About
I’m Matt, a full-stack software engineer who likes building useful products, exploring new technology, and learning in the open.
I’m Matt, a full-stack software engineer. I like the whole arc of making software: taking a loose idea, shaping it into something people can actually use, and learning whatever the problem demands along the way.
What keeps me building
I’m motivated by usefulness. A good product earns a place in someone’s day, and getting there means caring about the details nobody asks for: how it feels, how it fails, how easy it is to change later.
I’m also curious by default. New tools, new approaches, and new ways of working keep my attention, and I’d rather try something and learn from it than wonder about it from a distance.
Why this site
Built by Matt is where I keep the work. Projects document what I’m building, including the process and not only the result. Writing is for what I’m learning and the decisions behind the work. And Now is a plain account of what I’m focused on at the moment.
I’d rather learn in the open than keep it all in my head, and this is how I do that.
